Krill Oil is a Good Choice, but...

Krill Oil - I considered this a valid choice and took this for at least a year with acceptable benefit. I found a good quality product from Now Foods at Iherb as they state their Neptune Krill Oil has been tested and is free from contaminants like heavy metals, PCB's, dioxins, etc. This is important, because if it's not mentioned, it probably will be contaminated.

Note: One thing about Krill Oil to keep in mind though. It is a shellfish and there are derivatives in the oil. If you are allergic to shellfish, this would not the a good choice for you.

I found no mention of responsible fishing practices. If you choose Krill, please call the manufacturer and ask if their source of oil comes from certified sustainable fisheries. This will help bring up awareness and pressure for them to move in that direction if they are not participants.

If you go to iherb.com and look around, you can view the ingredients of both Krill and other Fish Oils. They do vary; some say NO contaminants, some add soy, or flax, Vitamin E, etc. I personally I have been very selective in my choices.

Since discovering my other two choices, I won't be going back to Krill Oil for my omega 3 supplements. They are just not the quality I am looking for. I feel it is important to know share this information though because everyone is different. You may have different needs than mine. Please continue to gather information. There's more to learn here that will help you make the right decision for you.
